Jesus In The Holy Days

[et_pb_section bb_built="1"][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text _builder_version="3.11"]Some sixteen years ago and for nearly thirty years prior to that, Marcia and I religiously kept all of the "Jewish" Feast Days. These included the Passover, Days of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Feast of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day.Throughout all of that time, I had no idea in the world that Jesus was represented, in some way, in each of these special days.Of course, we did understand that the very plan of salvation is pictured through these days: The year begins with Passover which pictures coming out of sin, but was fulfilled by Jesus presenting Himself as our Passover lamb.Next we have the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is really part of Passover, picturing the need for our repentance or change combined with Jesus" sacrifice.Next some fifty days later, is Pentecost which pictures the first fruit of God"s harvest, but was fulfilled by the coming of the infilling of the Holy Spirit and all of the benefits thereof.Still yet unfulfilled, is the Feast of Trumpets picturing the return of Jesus, the Feast of Tabernacles picturing our 1,000 years rule with Jesus and the Last Great Day picturing the final white throne judgement. These are the Old Covenant Holy days, which God has revealed as being symbolic of His progressive plan for every Christian. The problem right now is, that most Christians are still stuck at Passover. Yes, some have made it to Pentecost - but very few, of even those, are really prepared to move on to Trumpets.Religious folks focus upon the cross - the instrument of Jesus" execution during the Passover season, without moving forward to Pentecost to be equipped and empowered by His Holy Spirit.Yes, Jesus died upon the cross at Calvary, He was buried in a borrowed tomb - but He IS NOW our LIVING King.Once we believe that He died and rose again as our King, it is a mistake to camp out at the foot of the cross - it is time to move forward - for Jesus is no longer that suffering servant upon the cross - but is now the living King of the Kingdom of God, which we are responsible to grow and develop[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
