Nuggets From Proverbs - Part Three

God is not a harsh God, waiting to see if we fail in anyway. He is there to lead and guide us, He always covers us in His love. He desires us to live in the fullness (each and every one) of His blessings.How do we obtain this favor? Well, first of all, it comes naturally, just by being a child of God. But we keep this favor by obeying Him and walking the love walk. In the New Testament the commandments are summed up in the word love; love God first and then love others. We walk in love, not because we 'have to', but because we desire to do so to please God and reverence Him.Do you want continual health in your body? Then we are told in Proverbs 3:1-8 to reverence God and to depart from evil. When we do this, then this kind of living will bring health to our navel (center of our being, strength) and marrow (to moisten, refreshment) to our bones. We must get rid of strife, bitterness, un-forgiveness, disobedience and just an attitude of 'getting back at people.' What brings an open door to arthritis and osteoporosis? The answer is found in these versesWe also must be quick to listen to the leading and head the correction of the Holy Spirit.He will lead us down the right path so we will stay under God's protective covering. We need to learn to stay near to God and put Him first, above all else. The Word says that Gods ways are pleasantness and peace to our life. This is a true peace that the world cannot know. This peace comes from doing things God's way and not our own. Father knows best!Yes, we need money, homes and cars in this world, jewels are wonderful to have, but most important over all of these things combined is to gain godly wisdom and live by it daily.This wisdom will give us length of days PLUS riches and honor. Do you remember in the Bible, when King Solomon asked God for wisdom? God showered it on him and added great riches and honor to him. He will do the same for us, for He is not a respecter of persons.Vs. 19 -The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. When we operate and live in godly wisdom, darkness and every form of evil must flee - this is why we can have true peace in our lives.Vs. 31-35 tells us not to envy those who live in opposition to God and in sin - it may seem that they may be "living the good life" by in reality the curse of God is on their lives. They will reap what they sow. Harvest time is coming.Those who walk in the counsel and wisdom of God will walk in secret communion with Him. His blessings will be on us.The wise shall inherit glory (good and honor: but shame shall be the promotion of fools (those that are wise in their own eyes.)Do you need wisdom in your life? James 1:5 tells us to ask God for wisdom. He will give it generously to ALL who ask WITHOUT finding fault and it WILL be given to you.Go ahead, He's listening![/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
