[et_pb_section bb_built="1"][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text _builder_version="3.11"]The Holy Spirit is a wonderful person, friend, guide, counselor and teacher. He was with God the Father and Jesus at Creation, and it was through His power that the commands of God the Father was manifested. God said let there be light and the Holy Spirit brought the light and all the creation into being. The Holy Spirit was with Jesus in full measure while He was on this earth. He guided Jesus under God the Fathers direction in His every day life. It was through the power of the Holy Spirit and the strong desire and determination and love of Jesus that He did not sin while on earth. Jesus hated sin!We, as Christians need to learn about the Holy Spirit and let him move with power in our lives. He will bring us joy as we never knew it before. The Holy Spirit lives in us and when we come to him and ask him he will teach us about God and Jesus and himself. The Holy Spirit has a personality and will not force anything on us, but as we open ourselves up to him he will teach us so we can get to know God and what his will for us is. We learn the will of God by reading his word, the Bible. The Holy Spirit has gifts that he is ready and very willing to give you, but we need to know what these gifts are and ask for them. As we prove our faithfulness to him he will give us more and more of his power and gifts. We need to want to be obedient to God in everything and trust him in all things. The Holy Spirit is not someone to be afraid of, he is all good. He will speak to you. Learn to hear the inner voice that instructs you, and as God word says don't just hear my word, Do It!Even though we wish to have the gifts of the Holy Spirit, it is much more important to learn of Him and experience His presence in us.It is through the Holy Spirit that we are taught about Jesus -- as God, the Son of God, the Son of Man, of His personality, ministry and love. It is through the Holy Spirit that we develop our relationship with Jesus to the fullest. He teaches us that Jesus is our Savior, our King of Kings, The One who has redeemed our lives from the curse, the One who freely gives us salvation.Jesus himself said before he ascended to heaven that the Father would send another comforter to teach us so we would not be left alone and He would remind us of what Jesus taught. (John. 14:26 and 15:26)The Holy Spirit does not replace Jesus but gives us a hunger for us to want Jesus as the center of our lives. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus. The Holy Spirit is the reason we can rejoice in all that Jesus has done for us, so we want to continually give Jesus praise and honor. The Holy Spirit teaches us as we begin to learn just how much we are loved of Jesus, to know His love which surpasses all knowledge, so that we may be filled with the fullness of God. (Eph. 3:17-19)There is a unity that comes from the Spirit, it produces our unity of faith. (Eph. 4:3)This unity is centered on our sure foundation -- the knowledge of the Son of God. We are unified on the foundation of Jesus Christ. (Eph. 4:13)When others speak to you about Jesus Christ they are planting the seed, the Holy Spirit penetrates your heart, unveils your needs, and will show you that Jesus is the only solution to your problems and draws you into a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will make Jesus real to you.Below is a Bible Study on the Holy Spirit to help us get to know Him better, and by getting to know Him better we know God and Jesus better and become closer to them. We need to invite the Holy Spirit, He will not intrude into our lives on His own. He may convict us that we need something, or to do something or to say something or ask God to forgive us, and then we'll realize that he is wanting us to come to him. But he will Never force his will on us. We Choose!Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and open your mind now.Gen. 1:2 At creation the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, the breath of the Almighty gives me life.Ps. 139:7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?Mt. 3:11 John baptized in water for repentance, but the one coming after me will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. There are two baptisms: one is the baptism of repentance, the other is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.Mt. 3:16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, He came up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove on Him.Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.Mt. 28:19 Baptize all in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.Mt. 4:1 The Holy Spirit was with Jesus when he went into the desert to be tempted by the devil.Rm. 8:11 The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, and if He is living in you, He who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.Acts 1:2 Jesus gave the apostles their instructions through the Holy Spirit.Gal. 3:14 He, Jesus, redeemed all gentiles so that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Holy Spirit.Eph 1:13-14 When we heard the word of truth and believed in Christ the gospel (good news) of our salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession -- to the praise of glory.John. 14:26 The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.John. 15:26 When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who goes out from the Father, He will testify about me.John. 16:8 When the Counselor comes, He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; (the Holy Spirit will teach us what sin is and show us the way to Jesus) in regard to righteousness because I am going to the Father, (we have been made righteous through Jesus), and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world (Satan) now stands condemned (what we do now has consequences).John. 16:13-15 The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. He will not speak on His own, He will speak only what He hears and tell of the future to come. All that Praying in the Spirit means letting the Holy Spirit guide you, be attentive to his voice and let Him lead you in prayer. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to help us talk to God whenever we pray.Gal 4:6-7 Because we are Sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, Abba, Father. So we are no longer a slave, but a son; and since we are a son, God has also made us an heir belongs to the father is Jesus' and the Holy Spirit makes it known to us.Titus 3:5-6 God saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal of the Holy Spirit whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our savior, so that, having been justified (set free from guilt) by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal glory.Ezek. 36:26-27 I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statue and judgments. The willingness to obey will be in our hearts, it will be our greatest desire.Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Jesus, who through the eternal Spirit, offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.Acts 5:32 God gives the Holy Spirit to those that obey him.Eph 2:18 For through Jesus we have access to the Father by one Spirit.Acts 2:16-17 In the latter times I will pour out my spirit on all flesh and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your young men will see visions and old men will dream dreams.John. 3:3-5 Jesus said I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. For flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.John. 6:63 The Holy Spirit gives life, the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.I Cor. 6:19 Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.I Cor. 3:16-17 Don't we know that we are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in us. Don't destroy your temple because it is sacred.Gal 5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. We can keep in step with the Spirit, by learning what Gods' will is for us in His word.Eph. 5:18 Be filled with the Holy Spirit, sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.Eph. 2:22 In Jesus you are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.Eph 3:16 I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.vs. 20 God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us.Rm. 8:5-8 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what the nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of a sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.Gal 5:16 Live by the Spirit and you will not give into the desires of the sinful nature.Jude 20 Build yourself up in the faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.Praying in the Spirit means to ask the Holy Spirit to help us pray and let Him move and guide you. He knows all things and will direct you in what to say. It also means praying in tongues.Rm. 8: 26-27 The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express, in accordance with God's will.Eph 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit on all occasions.II Pet. 1:21 For prophecy never had it's origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.Rev. 2:7 We need to hear what the Spirit says.I Cor. 2:9-14 No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him, but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. No one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The Holy Spirit has a personality, He is gentle, meek, humble. He will NEVER push us!Eph. 4:30 Do not grieve (to give or cause sorrow) the Holy Spirit with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. When we don't want to obey God we grieve the Holy Spirit.Acts 7:51 We can resist the Holy Spirit. When we don't act on what we know is true and Gods' will for us we resist the counseling and guiding of the Holy Spirit.I Thes. 5:19 Do not quench the Holy Spirit.Mt. 12:31-32 He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. When we don't pray for guidance of the Holy Spirit and turn from Gods' ways, we can quench the Holy Spirit in our lives. But grieving or quenching (stopping) the Holy Spirit from operating in our lives is very different from blasphemy against the spirit. That is when we do not want anything to do with God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit after we've been baptized and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. It's when we turn our backs on God .If we're sorry for what sins we've committed and turn to God then our hearts our right and we have not blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. If you love God and want to live his way, you have not blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. If we feel separated from God and the Holy Spirit, then if we ask Gods' forgiveness, He is quick to forgive us. If we invite the Holy Spirit back, He will gladly help us.Rm. 15:30 The Holy Spirit has love.Joel 2:28 I will pour out my spirit on all people, in those days.vs. 31 before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.Luke. 11:15 If you know how to give good gifts to your children, being evil, how much more will the Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask.Gal. 5:22 If we have the Holy Spirit in us we will have the fruits of the Holy Spirit which are: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faith, Gentleness and Self Control.I Cor. 12:4-11 The Holy Spirit also gives us his gifts, which are:Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.To one there is given through the Spirit the Message of Wisdom, to another the Message of knowledge, to another Faith, Gifts of Healing, Miraculous powers, Prophecy, Distinguishing between spirits, Speaking in different tongues, Interpretation of Tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and He gives them to each one, just as He determines. He has the power of decision making.I Cor. 12:27-31 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is part of it. And in the Church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with the gifts of administration, and those who speak in different tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do al have the gifts of teaching? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly desire the greater gifts.I Pet. 4:10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.II Tim. 1:6 I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. The gifts of the office of ministry come through the laying on of hands.Acts 2:4 The disciples received the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues.Acts 19:2-7 Paul asked some disciples (12) if they had received the Holy Spirit when they believed. They had not heard of the Holy Spirit. They said they received the baptisms of Johns', his was a baptism of repentance in water. Paul told the people to believe in Jesus. On hearing this they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul laid his hands on them the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.I Cor. 14:2 When you speak in tongues you speak to God and no one understands you. When you speak in tongues you edify yourself. (Edify is to instruct or improve spiritually). God says do not speak in tongues in a group, unless there is someone to interpret for them. Prophesying is better for them because they will understand it.John. 7:38 He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.II Thes. 2:13 From the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. From your studies of the above scriptures you have learned that you have received the gift of the promised Holy Spirit when you were baptized. He is always there for you. He is just waiting for you to say Blessed Holy Spirit, I love you, please Help me pray, help me today, help me study, help me to know what to do, teach me about God, Jesus and you, I'm ready to learn![/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
