Who's Telling The Truth?

[et_pb_section bb_built="1"][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text _builder_version="3.11"]There used to be a TV show called "To Tell The Truth." I believe there were three people on the side to try to "stump" the panel which consisted of 4 celebrities. All 3 people said that they were "Joe Smith" and their occupation was such and such. One person had to tell the truth, but the other two imposters tried their best to bluff, lie and stump the panel of celebrities. So at the end of the show, when the real "Joe Smith" stood up, there was a variety of expressions from the celebrities faces. One or two may have picked the right person, but all too often, the lies told were pretty convincing and often fooled the panel. This show was done in "good fun" and was entertaining to many who watched the program. But there is someone in this world who's very job description (by his own making) is to lie, deceive, find fault, and bring down every one he can.Oh, his lies are good - sometimes he can fool some of the best - if they are caught off guard and are not knowledgeable of how he works.1 Peter 5:8 says, that the devil wanders around seeking whom he can devour. He is plotting against those who are not watching for his lies and deceit. The moment anyone lets his or her guard down, he is there to catch and deceive them. So, all of us must be alert to the lies of the enemy.Satan is all out to take your life and your family's life - he doesn't care which goes first - he is out to steal, kill and destroy. If something you hear is condemning, guilt ridden and full of darkness (anything that goes contrary to the Word of God) then it is from the devil and it is a bold-faced lie!The devil is the father of all lies. But Jesus IS the Way, the Truth and the Life.Jesus is our Refuge, our Fortress, our Victor, our Savior and our King. We have a Father who loves us, Jesus our brother and King, Who gave His life for us, and we also have the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth. We don't ever have to be confused or fooled again into believing a lie.Hosea 4:6 - My people perish for lack of knowledge. As Christians, we need to understand just how the devil and his demons work and know how to use our authority in Christ Jesus against him. The Bible is our instruction book and the Holy Spirit is our teacher.Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee. This is telling us that we can be watchful, and knowledgeable of the devils lies and tricks and say no to him. Also, as Christians we can put him under our feet and keep him there. The word resist here means to stand against and oppose, in a firm position, not moving. We do not have to be gullible, we do not have to lie down and allow the devil to walk all over us.You and I have the power and authority in this world, using the mighty name of Jesus and we are filled with the very power of the Holy Spirit! As we read the Word of God, we must place it as "Top Priority" in our lives. We must learn to "read the directives" coming straight from the mouth of God to us. If something is told to us that goes contrary to the Word of God, that is a "WARNING SIGNAL" telling us not to go there, don't think on those things, the lies are sent to confuse us and take us down.God tells us plainly in His Word the right way to go, the right path to take, but there is an "imposter" out there who is working hard to "stump" us. Cling to God, follow His Word and you and I never have to be deceived and be fooled by the lies of the enemy again! TGM[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
